A Canadian shoe developed by the McLaughlin family, the M&M Special is designed for maximum comfort, reliability, and perfect balance. The middle of the horseshoe has a large ringer breaker which helps to keep the horseshoe around the stake. 

The hooks on the M&M  help to keep the horseshoe from flying off the stake. 

The M&M can be pitched flip style or turn style (it has been pitched both ways to win World Championships.)

The Python's design and appearance is more rounded than the M&M Special. The Python has a smaller ringer breaker than the M&M Special, and slightly different hooks. It is balanced similar to the M&M Special and is ideal for both turn and flip. The Python has longer, thinner blades which allow the pitcher to hold the shoe in a variety of different places depending on personal preference. Many of the design features that have made the M&M so popular over the years have been incorporated in the Python.
