More success stories have been sent to the manufacturer on this shoe than any other shoe. The extra wide blades seem to provide just enough additional gripping area that allows the pitcher to gain a bit more control over the direction of the shoe, resulting in more ringers.
This snapping of the wrist is the cause of erratic pitches for many players--especially players with a very slow deliberate swing. The wrist muscles are typically weak, so it's hard to control this motion and repeat it consistently. This shoe was designed to minimize or eliminated the wrist snap. More surface area across the blade of the shoe helps correct this problem.
The cleats are shaped to grab like a claw when they land. When the Six Shooter lands on a pile of ringers, it really clings to the pile and stays on the stake. The shape of the wider blades also produces an unexpected benefit. Because of the sharper angle of the inside edge of the blades, when the stake hits the inside edges of the shoe, it will deflect off these blades toward the hook instead of toward the open end, helping it to stay on.

The Bronco Pro Flip won the World Championship in the Women's Division in it's second year of existence. Sue Snyder of Kentucky pitched the Bronco to the 1999 Championship with the highest ringer percentage of all entrants from all divisions. The Bronco Pro Flip is match weighted to within one tenth of an ounce with a "dead soft" rating. Its unique iron alloy formulation greatly reduces the need for filing. This shoe features a square shape instead of a curve, allowing for a wider gripping area for flip pitchers than a traditionally shaped shoe. With a generic U-shaped shoe, the turn pitcher has an advantage over a flip pitcher in that they have more room along the blade of the shoe to adjust their grip. As you can see by its shape, when pitching with the CHALLENGERS, no one has that gripping advantage. This is the perfect professional styled shoe for clubs to purchase in quantity for use in league play. It has the universal qualities of the Mustang due to the unique double sided heel cleats. You can throw any turn or flip equally well. The two pair sets are marked so that you can tell each pair apart even if the paint is worn off! This shoe is designed to be pitched effectively by amateur pitchers. It has excellent balance and is easy for just about anyone to pick up and throw with little or no practice in advance. The edges of each shoe are smooth and nicely rounded, allowing the shoe to "pull" out of your hand with ease. This also helps reduce fatigue and blistering, which is common when using sharper edged shoes.

A Professional Lightweight Shoe
Perfect for Seniors, Juniors and Women or anyone looking for a lighter weight shoe! The Pony horseshoe is unique on the pro tournament circuit. It is the only pro style horseshoe that is made lighter without losing the great balance and design features of the professional horseshoe. The Pony is a full-sized horseshoe that is modeled after the Ted Allen style shoe. The main difference is that the Pony is made from a special composition of metals allowing it to be the same size but lighter in weight. It also has improved hooks over the old Ted Allen shoe. The weight of this shoe is about 2lbs. 5 oz. compared to the average weight of tournament shoes of 2 lbs. 8 oz. to 2lbs. 10 oz. This lighter weight gives the serious player another tool to improve pitching. It also gives the older player a chance to keep playing even after the stake seems a little too far away. Often, women and children that can benefit from an easier grip and swing. Many pitchers can improve their game dramatically just by switching to these slightly lighter shoes. Some elderly players have reported that switching to the Pony has enabled them to stay pitching at 40 feet rather than moving to the 30 foot line. This is not some inferior children's toy version; these are serious horseshoes that are used in the highest levels of competition.

Donaho in the mid 1980's, the Cal-Flip was the first shoe specifically designed
for the flip pitch. Pete was a top flip player in the Western US and he wanted a
shoe that would land "cleats down", giving him the same gripping and stopping
advantages as turn throwers have from the specially designed cleats on a
pitching shoe.
His invention, the Cal-Flip Horseshoe (named after his home state of California), put flip players and turn players back on even ground-- It was a revolution in the horseshoe world at the time and it totally legitimized the flip style of pitching for the first time. Although Pete passed away in 1995, his legend lives on as his shoe is still pitched in championships all over the country! The Cal-Flip has always been recognized as the standard in the flip shoe industry.

No, we're not going to fool too many of you who are part of the horseshoe pitching arena in the U.S. and Canada with this shoe... it should look familiar to many of you since it undoubtedly greatly resembles a shoe manufactured in another land a bit to the northwest of us. It's not an exact copy... it has been smoothed it out a bit in places and knocked off all the rough edges... plus, they added a little of thier own expertise to the hook area of this shoe... basically, they took a good thing and made it great, much like so many others did with the Ted Allen shoe with their E-Z Grip. Right now we only carry these in a Medium. More to come later!! This shoe can be flipped or turned.

The almost instant success of the diamond-shaped, waffle-like grip on the new Alan Francis All-On horseshoe immediately spurred requests for the same thing on a flip shoe. So the call answered was with this shoe... the Snyder Flip-Grip! As you can see from the photos, this shoe has the body of the Snyder E-Z Flip II with a couple enhancements... The thumb cleat is all new... Thoroughbred had many requests for a Snyder shoe with the centering style cleat featured on the Glory, Mustang, Stinger and Legacy... So here it is! Beyond that, as previously stated, we added the same gripping surface that's on the new All-On shoe, making this the first flip shoe ever to have a textured gripping area and boy does it work good! In dry conditions, clay or dirt wipes out of the grooves quickly and with little effort. In wet and sloppy conditions, you can actually just pick this shoe up and throw it and not lose your grip... if it's really messy, one quick wipe with a rag to dry the shoe is all you need to throw it... Bottom line, there's little down-time fussing with your shoes between pitches, so if you're one that likes to keep the pace moving in a game, this is the shoe for you! When pitching this shoe, the tips are weighted so heavily, that it should feel like it is pulling out of your hand and beginning its flip before you let it go-- It should practically flip by itself with almost no effort. This shoe features a squarer shape instead of a curve, allowing for a wider gripping area. This gives the pitcher more room to adjust their grip, like turn throwers have along the blade of the shoe-- a unique advancement in flip shoe design. The edges of each shoe are smooth and nicely rounded, allowing the shoe to "pull" out of your hand with ease. This also helps reduce fatigue and blistering, which is common when using sharper edged shoes.
