THOROUGHBRED-----The newest innovator in the sport of horseshoe pitching. You thought horseshoes were all the same? Not true! Since 1995, Thoroughbred has researched the various styles of play and tailored their line of shoes to meet the demands of those pitching styles. These shoes really grab nicely. It's hard enough to make a ringer in the first place-- So why not pitch a shoe that's going to stay on? You can't go wrong with Thoroughbreds. Item # 1040
ONE YEAR WARRANTY
UNIQUE IRON ALLOY FORMULATIONS REDUCES NEED FOR FILING
NHPA SANCTIONED
DEAD SOFT RATING
$67.00

Snyder EZ Flip (with ringer breaker) This is the most advanced flip shoe ever designed. Why? Because it's made for the best flip pitcher in the world-- Sue Snyder, 1999 Women's World Champion. This shoe has it all-- extremely heavy tips, a narrow but effective ringer deflector and a lower/flatter rear thumb cleat for truly "E-Z " flipping! Hence its name: "E-Z Flip"!

When pitching this shoe, the tips are weighted so heavily, that it should feel like it is pulling out of your hand and beginning its flip before you let it go-- It should practically flip by itself with almost no effort. This shoe features a squarer shape instead of a curve, allowing for a wider gripping area. This gives the pitcher more room to adjust their grip, like turn throwers have along the blade of the shoe-- a unique advancement in flip shoe design.

The edges of each shoe are smooth and nicely rounded, allowing the shoe to "pull" out of your hand with ease. This also helps reduce fatigue and blistering, which is common when using sharper edged shoes.

Also available without a ringer break in the E-Z Flip II:

Six Shooter

Item # 1038
ONE YEAR WARRANTY
UNIQUE IRON ALLOY FORMULATIONS REDUCES NEED FOR FILING
NHPA SANCTIONED
DEAD SOFT RATING
$67.00

SIX SHOOTER More success stories have been sent to the manufacturer on this shoe than any other shoe. The extra wide blades seem to provide just enough additional gripping area that allows the pitcher to gain a bit more control over the direction of the shoe, resulting in more ringers. This snapping of the wrist is the cause of erratic pitches for many players--especially players with a very slow deliberate swing. The wrist muscles are typically weak, so it's hard to control this motion and repeat it consistently. This shoe was designed to minimize or eliminated the wrist snap. More surface area across the blade of the shoe helps correct this problem. The cleats are shaped to grab like a claw when they land. When the Six Shooter lands on a pile of ringers, it really clings to the pile and stays on the stake. The shape of the wider blades also produces an unexpected benefit. Because of the sharper angle of the inside edge of the blades, when the stake hits the inside edges of the shoe, it will deflect off these blades toward the hook instead of toward the open end, helping it to stay on.

The BRONCO PRO FLIP----the most popular flip style horseshoe on the pro tournament circuit! Players of every skill level can improve their game with this horseshoe. It is priced significantly lower than shoes of similar design.

This shoe won world championships in its first year of production! It is perfectly balanced for the flip turn. The grabbing cleats are reversed from the thumb cleat to allow the hooks and front cleats to grab the ground and stay on the stake. This gives the flip pitcher the same advantage that the turn pitchers have enjoyed for years-----the ringers stay on!

The Bronco Pro Flip won the World Championship in the Women's Division in it's second year of existence. Sue Snyder of Kentucky pitched the Bronco to the 1999 Championship with the highest ringer percentage of all entrants from all divisions. The Bronco--with the two "claw shaped" cleats in front and its circular cut-out hooks--holds the stake!

The Bronco Pro Flip is match weighted to within one tenth of an ounce with a "dead soft" rating. Its unique iron alloy formulation greatly reduces the need for filing.

Buy with confidence-----you are buying from horseshoe professionals. The White family from Erie, Pennsylvania has been in the business of selling, manufacturing and pitching horseshoes for five generations!

Challenger

ONE YEAR WARRANTY
UNIQUE IRON ALLOY FORMULATIONS REDUCES NEED FOR FILING
NHPA SANCTIONED
DEAD SOFT RATING
$48.00

Challenger This shoe features a square shape instead of a curve, allowing for a wider gripping area for flip pitchers than a traditionally shaped shoe. With a generic U-shaped shoe, the turn pitcher has an advantage over a flip pitcher in that they have more room along the blade of the shoe to adjust their grip. As you can see by its shape, when pitching with the CHALLENGERS, no one has that gripping advantage.

This is the perfect professional styled shoe for clubs to purchase in quantity for use in league play. It has the universal qualities of the Mustang due to the unique double sided heel cleats. You can throw any turn or flip equally well. The two pair sets are marked so that you can tell each pair apart even if the paint is worn off! This shoe is designed to be pitched effectively by amateur pitchers. It has excellent balance and is easy for just about anyone to pick up and throw with little or no practice in advance.

The edges of each shoe are smooth and nicely rounded, allowing the shoe to "pull" out of your hand with ease. This also helps reduce fatigue and blistering, which is common when using sharper edged shoes.

This shoe will improve your game and ringer percentage. They will grab and hold the stake when others will not. The Magnet is an awesome shoe for the one-and-a-quarter or one-and-three-quarter turn pitcher.

The blade has a shape and feel similar to the old Ted Allen shoe including the finger notch positioner. Add that to the BEST hooks in the business and the very effective ringer breaker in the center and you have a real winner! The incredible shape and balance of this engineered Thoroughbred horseshoe is like no other. Simply the best.

$59.00

PONY------Finally! A Professional Lightweight Shoe Perfect for Seniors, Juniors and Women or anyone looking for a lighter weight shoe!

The Pony horseshoe is unique on the pro tournament circuit. It is the only pro style horseshoe that is made lighter without losing the great balance and design features of the professional horseshoe. The Pony is a full-sized horseshoe that is modeled after the Ted Allen style shoe. The main difference is that the Pony is made from a special composition of metals allowing it to be the same size but lighter in weight. It also has improved hooks over the old Ted Allen shoe.

The weight of this shoe is about 2lbs. 5 oz. compared to the average weight of tournament shoes of 2 lbs. 8 oz. to 2lbs. 10 oz. This lighter weight gives the serious player another tool to improve pitching. It also gives the older player a chance to keep playing even after the stake seems a little too far away. Often, women and children that can benefit from an easier grip and swing.

Many pitchers can improve their game dramatically just by switching to these slightly lighter shoes. Some elderly players have reported that switching to the Pony has enabled them to stay pitching at 40 feet rather than moving to the 30 foot line. This is not some inferior children's toy version; these are serious horseshoes that are used in the highest levels of competition.

UNIQUE IRON ALLOY FORMULATIONS REDUCES NEED FOR FILING
NHPA SANCTIONED
DEAD SOFT RATING
$59.00

Sidewinder When designing this shoe, the manufacturer received input from horseshoe pitchers of all skill levels from all over the country. The Sidewinder is a very well balanced, easy turning horseshoe. The blade area and hooks are identical to the Bronco Pro Flip. The difference is the thumb cleat. On the Sidewinder, the thumb cleat is on the normal or conventional side (which is the side with the hook cleats). The thumb cleat is also smaller and lower.

This shoe is primarily used by tournament players who pitch the turn-and -a-quarter and the turn-and- three- quarter. It is also used by flip pitchers who hold the shoe with the thumb cleat in the down position. The smaller thumb cleat on this shoe is an advantage for the flip pitcher with that type of grip.

Sidewinder is a traditional styled and shaped horseshoe with "dead center" balance. It has the Thoroughbred’s "claw-like" cleats and hooks. Sidewinder is made from our specialized formulation of ductile iron which produces a dead soft rating, but requires almost no filing! This is everything you asked for in a pro pitching shoe. There’s not a better shoe out there — try it today!

Cal-Flip

Item # 1003
Cal-Flip Ductile Iron
$70.00

Invented and patented by Pete Donaho in the mid 1980's, the Cal-Flip was the first shoe specifically designed for the flip pitch. Pete was a top flip player in the Western US and he wanted a shoe that would land "cleats down", giving him the same gripping and stopping advantages as turn throwers have from the specially designed cleats on a pitching shoe.

His invention, the Cal-Flip Horseshoe (named after his home state of California), put flip players and turn players back on even ground-- It was a revolution in the horseshoe world at the time and it totally legitimized the flip style of pitching for the first time. Although Pete passed away in 1995, his legend lives on as his shoe is still pitched in championships all over the country!

The Cal-Flip has always been recognized as the standard in the flip shoe industry.

No, we're not going to fool too many of you who are part of the horseshoe pitching arena in the U.S. and Canada with this shoe... it should look familiar to many of you since it undoubtedly greatly resembles a shoe manufactured in another land a bit to the northwest of us. It's not an exact copy... it has been smoothed it out a bit in places and knocked off all the rough edges... plus, they added a little of thier own expertise to the hook area of this shoe... basically, they took a good thing and made it great, much like so many others did with the Ted Allen shoe with their E-Z Grip. Right now we only carry these in a Medium. More to come later!! This shoe can be flipped or turned.
